Each utility below is set up directly with the provider, using their own official application — not through our office. The links, requirements, and phone numbers here come straight from each provider’s current instructions.

How to Set Up Service

  1. 1.Complete the official Contract for Service.
  2. 2.Provide a valid photo ID plus a rent receipt, lease, or warranty deed.
  3. 3.For the deposit, either enroll in the Electronic Debit Program while establishing service to waive the initial residential deposit, or pay the current $125 residential deposit (previous KEYS customers in good standing may qualify for a waiver).
  4. 4.A $40 service fee is added to the first bill.

Water — Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority (FKAA)

How to Set Up Service

  1. 1.Visit the FKAA Establish Service page and complete the online start-service form.
  2. 2.Have ready: account name, service and mailing addresses, phone number, driver’s-license number, date of birth, email, and a copy of the lease, deed, or HUD-1.
  3. 3.Select an accepted payment method: credit card, check, Google Pay, or Apple Pay.
  4. 4.After the account is created, use the MyFKAA portal for registration, billing, and payment management.

If FKAA requires a deposit, confirm the amount or waiver directly with customer service. The official start-service page does not publish a general deposit amount.

Residential Garbage & Recycling

Go to City of Key West garbage collection info
  • For homes within the City of Key West, garbage collection is included in the property's annual tax assessment — you generally don't need to open a separate billing account.
  • Waste Management provides one garbage cart per household.
  • For a missing/replacement cart, missed collection, or a bulk pickup, call Waste Management at 305-296-8297.
